Most of the almond milk sold at the grocery store (or other milk alternatives) are filled with nasty chemicals or sweeteners that aren't doing our body any favors. But the good news is is that making homemade almond milk is SO EASY! It really doesn't take long at all and it's cheaper, too. I hope you give it a try!
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 cup raw almonds
5 cups water (preferably filtered!)
Dash of sea salt
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Soak almonds in hot water for about 3 hours, or soak in regular water overnight.
Drain almonds and then add the almonds, water and sea salt to a blender.
Blend on high for 2 mins.
Strain the liquid into a bowl using a nut milk bag, then transfer the finished product to a container to be refrigerated!
If you want to get creative, you can also add other things to your milk, such as vanilla extract, cinnamon, cacao powder, etc.
Note: Shake milk before using since you will notice it tends to "separate" while in the fridge.
